How I Convinced My Gang to Get Matching Black Clogs for Women

We were a bunch of girls who grew up together around the block, went to school together and did almost everything together. Our parents were friends, more like a close-knit family, who planned kids around the same time. Luckily all 5 of them had girls and we were like sisters - inseparable under any circumstances. We always had each other’s back and had no need to include an outsider in our group.

In the later years of school when we were poetically blossoming, our choices of clothing and everything else changed from what it used to be. This was, probably, the first time when I noticed I couldn’t keep up with the fashion choices my friends were putting up. While my outfits were up to the mark, they could not stand my choice of comfort footwear over heeled shoes.

I loved the black heeled clogs I owned. The best things about them were the fact that they’d go with everything I wore and looked decent and smart. Moreover, I loved the kind of uniform support I got from them as opposed to the arched heels of any other footwear that I had tried. I figured I was one of those who would never get over the preference for clogs.

All was fine until the annual day of school and as usual, our group had to give a performance. We all thought of doing something unique and decided on a tap dance routine. We caught hold of a choreographer who would teach us this unique yet intriguing dance form. The next day when we walked into his studio and started practising I was surprised as to how easily I was picking up the dance form and how light and accurate my taps were.

Even the choreographer appreciated my movement and this is when my friends thought that only clogs could give them the confidence of performing like I was. After the class, I took them to my favourite store and we bought identical black clogs for women and gave the best performance of our lives in those shoes.

How Swedish Clogs Have Made A Graceful Comeback?

Swedish clogs have made a triumphant comeback in the past few years. Women have gracefully embraced clogs as one of the most fashionable footwear at present. With their elegant looks, ornate designs and orthopedic usefulness, clogs have become the best choice for women of all ages. Swedish clogs were back with a bang when they featured in the 2007 winter collection for Dutch designers Viktor and Rolf.

The Dutch unveiled their set of high-heeled clogs in the catwalk which grabbed numerous eyeballs and set the tone for a new genre of fashionable footwear. The French were not to be left behind. Louis Vuitton and Chanel brought their own collection of Swedish clogs which featured a simple fabric upper construction fastened to a wooden heel.

Clogs became a hit after they featured in such catwalks and fashion parades. They garnered such attention that women began to buy varieties of clogs to team them up with different dresses. Clogs now come in a bunch of designs. There are open-back and closed-back styles. The platforms come in wood, cork or plastic options.

The heels are low, high as well as flat versions. The upper part is constructed using various types of leather in an assortment of shades and colors such as brown, black, blue, pink and purple. They usually come in the strap and strapless options. There are also plastic clogs which are perfect for gardening activities. They are tough and you can just wash them off in case they get dirty.

Swedish clogs catering the nursing departments have become a popular choice for those professions where women are on their feet all day. Nursing clogs are specifically designed to provide ankle, knee and back support to minimize knee and back pain. These clogs have non-slip treads which provide solid grip and prevent you from slipping on wet hospital floors. Moreover, these Swedish nursing clogs are slip-on shoes which makes wearing them on and off a breeze.

Clog sandals are the latest obsession in shoe fashion

Wooden clog sandals have come a long way from their Dutch origins. Back then, clogs were hand-crafted and made completely of wood since they lasted longer, did not hold moisture and insulate the feet from the ground. Of late, the clunky wooden shoes have been reimagined into a stylish fashion accessory that is a common sight on fashion ramps.

Clog sandals worn today are not entirely made of wood. The upper portion covering the top and the sides of the clog is made of leather or rubber while the heel is left exposed. The rubber type of clog sandal usually comes in a single color and has a strap that goes around the heel and is generally worn as a summer sandal.

Clog sandals have evolved as a fashion accessory since they offer superior stability and leg comfort. They are easy to wear and easy to keep on the feet. Wooden clog sandals come in three different soles- classic, high and wedge.

Because of the ease, versatility, and protection it offers, wooden clog sandals have emerged as a staple footwear of many industry verticals. Professional clogs have to be extremely comfortable and durable since in many professions, wearers have to stand for long durations and it’s the feet that suffer the most in the process.

Nurses prefer clog sandals because they provide better lower back support and protect the feet from potential injuries like falling objects and exposure to harmful chemicals. In recent times, clogs are being manufactured in such a way that they suit a host of occasions.

There are dressy clogs, casual clogs, professional clogs and wooden clogs. Dressy clogs fall between professional and casual clogs. They are clunky and have high heels and are adorned with ornate designs and embellishments. Casual clogs are those which you can wear both indoors and outdoors. They have short heels which are made of wood.

The upper part is made of inexpensive material like nylon or cotton. Professional clogs are one of the most expensive clogs and come in leather or synthetic upper options. They are mostly worn by chefs and nurses and employ low heels and are comfortable too. Wooden clogs now are machine-made and come in flat or high heels. They can be worn with a casual attire or a formal one.

Here Is Why Swedish Shoes Are Commonly Wooden Clogs Only

Clogs were introduced as footwear for labors and mine workers. Primarily worn by men, these clogs were sturdy in nature and could resist a lot of rugged usage. With constant change in time and fashion sense, they were reintroduced as fashion footwear for women. From the basic rugged footwear type to unmatched style for everyone, clogs have come a long way.

I live in Sweden and for me Swedish shoes have always been reciprocated as wooden clogs. I have seen the crowd wearing them since I was a child and I have always had atleast a pair as staple fashion footwear in my wardrobe.

Be it formal occasion or a party that we attended, Swedish shoes have become a part and parcel of fashion wardrobes. The best part about Swedish shoes is the fact that they can be paired with any kind of outfit and will blend in perfectly with your daywear and nightwear.

Sweden has a legacy of wooden clogs in the world. Even though men here remotely wore them, now Swedish shoes have taken over the world by a storm. They are made with wooden soles to provide strength and uniformity to the feet and the uppers are made from leather that is one of the sturdiest materials known to mankind.

With the fashion world accepting these shoes with open arms, they have revolutionized the simple footwear to ones that are available in almost every colour that you can imagine.

If your work involves standing or walking around for long hours, then clogs is a must for you. It has a uniform sole that helps in reducing the pressure on every part of the foot. Moreover, the footwear is breathable in nature and does not leave your foot infection ridden, even if you sweat a lot. It will not devoid you of your wish of walking around in comfortable heels.

Most of the Swedish shoes have heels as their soles instead of normal platforms. But unlike heels of any other footwear, the clogs have comfortable block heels, which do not put too much pressure on your shoes when you walk around all day long.

With all these advantages, Swedish clogs are definitely what you should be wearing now.

How Black Clogs For Women Became My Staple Footwear During Pregnancy

Even though I had heard a lot about the benefits of owning clogs as a pair of fashion staple in my wardrobe, I was not really a fan until recently.

Being a teenager generally makes you have very vivid yet rigid views about fashion. My mother kept harping about the happiness she achieved in buying clogs every time and it kind of took a toll on my patience.

This is why my first pair of clogs was a forced gift by my mother on my birthday.

A day before I turned 16, she walked into a swanky little store, which featured a special collection of women’s clogs, telling me that she wanted a pair for herself.

She asked the store manager for “a pair of black clogs in her size” (while pointing towards me) and that was my cue to shoot a grudging look at my mom. I kept whining that this wasn’t something I wanted for my birthday while she kept insisting that I would love them anyway.

Here’s a question. When was the time you heard of a sixteen-year-old following their parents’ word? Like a stubborn child I threw them at the back of my footwear drawer, never to be retrieved.

That was 10 years ago.

Times changed, I grew up, got married and was about to start a family when I visited my mom out of the blue to check on her. I also went checked my room, reminiscing over the things I owned when noticed those dreaded wooden clogs lying at the back of my wardrobe.

This time, however, I tried them on like a mature adult, strutting across the room. I suddenly realized that switching from my stilettoes to these clogs gave my legs instant comfort.

I sneaked them out of the room and quietly took them home so that I wouldn’t have to confront my mom about being right this whole time.

Over the last month and during my second trimester these black clogs became my favorite pair and I started recommending them to my friends at yoga class. The instant comfort, proper posture and fact that they went with almost every outfit made them my dearest.

I was so impressed by the make and comfort that these clogs that I ordered a few more pairs for myself to get some well-deserved rest for my feet.

On that note, I'd like to add that going from work to party in black clogs for women is super easy thanks to their versatility and subtle style.

Helpful Tips for Taking Care of Your Leather Clog Sandals

We have all experienced that stinging heartache when our favorite footwear becomes unwearable because of a nasty scratch. Or the agony we feel – physical as well as a little emotional – when a beautiful pair of sandals that we ordered turns out to be unbearably tough to wear. Similar issues can come affront with leather clog sandals if you don’t take proper care measures.

All new clog’s leather seems hard at first – no need to get alarmed – after wearing them a couple of times, the leather will soften and adjust with your feet perfectly. But if you take good care of your leather clogs then you can surely continue wearing them for a long time. Following are a few tips with which you can take care of your beloved leather clogs:

Know the Type of Leather the Clog is made of

If your clog’s leather has a shiny or matt finish – a smooth finish to be precise – then you can easily clean it by using a damp cloth. Try not to rub vigorously, gently wipe clean any dirt that’s visible on your clogs. If cleaning with a damp cloth doesn’t work then try to wipe it off with a mix of soap and water.

If the clogs are covered by nubuck leather, you can use a soft brush (or suede brush) to brush off any dirt that’s on the surface. Another thing you can do to protect them from getting dirty is, use a nubuck & suede protection spray – but keep in mind, this trick works on brand new clogs.

Stay Clear of Water

This one’s a no-brainer, but one we often forget – leather and water aren’t a good match. So try to steer clear of liquids if you don’t want them ruined. Make sure that you don’t put on leather clogs as soon as you step out of the shower or if your feet are sweaty. And if the leather does get wet for some reason (surprise rains or the sprinklers go off), don’t panic. Leave your leather clog sandals on their side to dry out.

Reasons Why You Should Go For Trendy Clog Boots

It is not impossible but it indeed is really tough to keep up with fashion every season. And even more so when your interests are a little different. Practically, your wardrobe requires a refresh every six months or so depending on the current fashion scene.

This refresh cycle is something that can be easily achieved with your wardrobe, but when it comes to footwear, things get a bit tricky as footwear tends to be more expensive compared to apparels and a stiletto is also expected to have a longer shelf life than an LBD.

Well, seeing how that can be a bit of conundrum, we are here with a possible solution to all your “footwear fashion” woes. Clog boots are a good footwear option to have in your fashion arsenal. They are extremely durable and strong. Also, clogs tend to fall in the evergreen footwear category - they will probably never go out of style. They are available in trendy colors and different styles which are both attractive and practical.

These clogs can go with any dress that you wear. Clogs are one of those items that have been around for a long time and for all the right reasons - the comfort they provide is commendable. Designer clog boots are hand-made with some simple and natural products which are easily available; wood and leather. These two material help in producing products that are kind to the feet and are also durable.

For men, these boots ensure that the feet are not suffocated and to women they provide comfort to both the spine and their feet. The classic design ensures that they never go out of trend and the amount of comfort these boots provide hits home with the people searching for well-balanced footwear.

In today’s fashion world it is very difficult to look for an item that matches with everything. Personally I have never found any such item ever. That was until I stumbled upon clog boots and words are not enough to highlight their comfort and trendiness, with resulting designs being relaxing and stylish depending on what attire you pair them with. It is this versatility that has made me a big fan.

Yet another reason why you should opt for these boots is that they give you great looks and in today’s fashion world appearance holds the key for a great first impression. You may want to update your wardrobe regularly but these boots are something you’ll never want to replace but build your styles around.
